I have another frugal recipe for everyone. This meal serves six, you can serve it with some rolls or rice if you think the meal needs something extra, but it is very filling without these additions.
Barbeque Chicken and Veggies in a Crockpot
In large crockpot, put in 1 1/2 quarts green beans and 6 mini ears of corn. Top with 6 frozen boneless, skinless, chicken breasts. Sprinkle with Creole Seasoning and Seasoned Salt. Drizzle with barbeque sauce. Sprinkle parmesean cheese. Sprinkle chopped bacon. Cook on high 5-6 hours, or until the center of the chicken is no longer pink.
Cost:
6 mini ears of corn, $1.50 (24 ears are $5 at Food Lion)
1 1/2 quarts green beans $2.00 ( The Large Can at Food Lion)
2.5 pounds boneless, skinless, chicken breasts, $6.50 (From Wal-Mart)
barbeque sauce was about 1/4 cup, the whole thing is a dollar, so, about $0.30. (You can get at Sav-a-Lot and Dollar Tree)
seasonings: pennies.(I got the creole seasoning at a local scratch and dent grocery store for 0.79 and used very little of the 4 oz container, and the seasoned salt was a $1 at Dollar Tree and I used very little of it)
parmesean cheese, $0.50 as the whole thing is $2.50 at Sav a Lot.
Chopped Bacon: Packages are a dollar at Dollar Tree, I just used 2-3 tablespoons, so $0.20.
Total Cost of the Meal:$11.00 plus tax
